Thursday 19th June 2025

Once you've made the decision to upgrade your conservatory with a warm roof tiled system, you'll then need to decide which type of conservatory roof tiles you would like for the finishing touch. We have different styles and colours of conservatory roof tiles available and this blog will help you to decide which roof tile is for you.

Types of conservatory roof tiles

We offer two different types of roof tiles, which are suitable for use as conservatory roof tiles or for any other similar structure, requiring the use of lightweight roof tiles. These are shingle roof tiles and composite roof tiles.

Shingle Roof Tiles

The first type of lightweight roof tiles that we offer are shingle roof tiles, often referred to as 'roof shingles'. These roof tiles offer the timeless attraction of low-profile shingles, which effortlessly enhance the aesthetic appeal and longevity of your roof. The roof shingles that we supply are called ExtraLight Shingle Roof Tiles.

The ExtraLight Shingle Roof Tile weighs less than 7kg/m², reducing structural load and making them the perfect lightweight roof tile for a conservatory roof. They are extemely robust roof shingles, capable of withstanding the harsh and extreme weather conditions that the UK is susceptible to. They are also easy to install and by covering 3.2m² per tile, installation is quick and convenient. They are also suitable for low pitch roofs, providing flexibility in their usage.

We offer ExtraLight Shingle Roof Tiles in three colours; charcoal, ember and walnut.

Composite Roof Tiles

The second type of lightweight roof tiles that we offer are composite roof tiles . These are modern, sustainable and easy to install lightweight roof tiles manufactured from recycled polymers. We offer two types of composite roof tiles; ExtraLight Classic Tiles and Tapco Slate Roof Tiles.

ExtraLight Classic Tiles weigh less than 8kg/m², making them 80% lighter than traditional conservatory roof tiles. They are made from recycled plastic, therefore reducing their impact on the environment. The sleek and stylish design, projects a modern look and offers an alternative visual appeal, to traditional shingle roof tiles. They are suitable for use on low pitch roofs (as low as 12.5°), exceeding performance requirements for conservatory roof tiles.

ExtraLight Classic Tiles benefit from interlocking technology, which are designed for quick and easy installation, reducing labour time by 25% and eliminating the need for a double eave course.
